This vintage zither was made in the early 20th century and is in remarkable condition for it’s age. An American-German collaboration, it was built in Germany for the International market as it sports the English of the note B. It’s other rarity is the tuning fret board and it is the oldest zither currently in stock in The Zither House. Restored to it’s former glory, with bright and cheerful decals, it comes in a sturdy cardboard box. As it often happens in these antique instruments, the back board has a crack (see image) which does not interfere with the structural strength of the instrument. In fact, we at The Zither House have stopped attempts to fill these common cracks as we found that this often negatively affects the richness of the sound.
All tuning pegs are firm and the sound is strong and warm.
It has 2 diatonic octaves of single-strung melody strings, starting from middle C and 5 Chords C, G, F, D and A, each chord consisting of a bass and the triad.
All our zithers come with accessories – tuning wrench, cleaning brush, thumb picks and 10 tune-sheets, plus a 1 hour FREE lesson to help you get the most out of your zither.
